Interesting, I eventually got my vote last Friday. I was shocked as a friend of mine was suspended for reposting my comments about anti semitism. My wife got her vote after calling our MP A F@#@%ing liar at OUR CLP. This is a fiasco.

suspendedDisenfranchised

At the time of writing, there are around 21 hours remaining in the 2016 Labour leadership contest. Last night, both Channel 4’s Dispatches programme and the BBC’s Panorama featured ‘exposés’ on supposed problems in the behaviour of Momentum, the Jeremy Corbyn-supporting movement that has become the latest target of wild accusations from some Labour MPs and the establishment media. Neither programme could find anything of substance to report, which begs the question of why they bothered broadcasting – but which, given that a Dispatches ‘reporter’ spent 6 months ‘undercover’ (secretly filming meetings that were almost all open to the public) also speaks volumes because of what they did not find.

However, the most glaring omission was the real, massive Labour scandal that both channels chose (since they can’t realistically be unaware) to ignore: that of the hundreds of thousands of disenfranchised members, particularly the unknown yet surely enormous numbers that…

It’s disgusting that a Labour MP is attacking Trades Unions in this way.

Jill Mountford's Momentum blog

[See here for about this blog.]

Telegraph ArticleRMT_or_JMcTWe are appalled at prominent Labour Party member John McTernan’s 10 August article entitled “The Tories should crush the rail unions once and for all” – in the Daily Telegraph.

McTernan not only attacks trade unions generally, but condemns the Tories for not being sufficiently ruthless in their anti-union attacks!

Whatever differences exist in the Labour Party, this is unacceptable. Labour is and should be the party of trade unions. We the undersigned Labour Party members back the rail workers in dispute and call on the NEC to do likewise – and to formally condemn John McTernan for this.

Stop MP lies & corruption

A number of coroners have come out and stated the DWP played a role in the death of their clients. The DWP have the cheek to say the coroners are wrong – who are you more likely to believe – the professionals whose job it is to investigate deaths or a Government department with its own agenda?

Coroner Michael Oakley said the DWP benefits assessment was key to the death of Nick Barker.  Coroner Andrew Haigh concluded the death of Tim Salter was mostly caused by the DWP who drastically reduced his benefit.

Meanwhile these people died under questionable circumstances with the DWP.  Cecilia Burns had cancer.  The DWP declared her fit for work.  She appealed the decision but died shortly after winning her appeal.  Chris Cann was housebound after losing both legs and a finger.  The DWP insisted he exited his home to attend a fit…

JEZWECAN we shall overcome

Heavy Metal Politics

In the wake of “Labour Purge 2,” it’s easy to become despondent.

Here are 10 reasons to be hopeful:

  1. Labour HQ looks incompetent. Labour’s NEC made history, taking steps unprecedented in British politics. Backed by General Secretary, Iain McNicol, Labour has culled over a third of its members. Purging the head of the Bakers union (BFAWU) led John McDonnell to demand the protection of members from a “rigged purge.” Presented with little to no evidence of their suspensions, members have received letters outlining vague justifications, such as “sharing inappropriate content” on social media.
  2. Iain McNicol will resign. The systematic abuse of members and supporters is a final “Hoorah” from the General Secretary and his outgoing team. The NEC will soon have five new representatives; promising to protect and serve Party members. McNicol cannot survive this.
  3. A purge won’t happen again. Labour can look forward to a future where Party members and supporters…

branson corbyn fight

Sir Richard Branson is this morning still denying that he was duffed up by Jeremy Corbyn after a row about trains earlier in the week.

Whilst the labour leader was refusing to answer questions regarding the battering of any British billionaires, a source told us that Corbyn most likely travelled to his island and gave him a proper kicking.

“Jeremy Corbyn said he was making jam. I don’t know how long it takes to make jam but conceivably it might be long enough to fly over to Branson’s private island, sitting on the floor of the plane, and give him a proper kicking. And then come back. Either way, Branson’s not letting on what really happened. Well he wouldn’t. Not unless he wants more of the same.” We were told.

Speaking from outside a hospital close to his private island Mr Branson said “I can fully confirm that I fell…

Virgin today has claimed that, in effect, Jeremy Corbyn staged the video of him sitting on the floor of a full train, insisting that there were seats available and releasing CCTV footage of him walking along the train past – they claim – empty and unreserved seats, as well as empty and reserved seats that he could have taken.

Scandalously, BBC News continues (as of 8.20pm) to cover the ‘row’ as if there is still any dispute about the matter, when there is already ample evidence that the facts completely support Corbyn’s account.

Virgin’s statement reads:

Seats were available on the train in which Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn was filmed sitting on the floor, Virgin Trains has found.

Film footage released to the media showed Mr Corbyn sitting on the floor of a three-hour Virgin Trains service from London to Newcastle claiming it was “ram-packed”.

CCTV footage taken from the…
